Katey Sagal
Katey Sagal, an actress/singer who is
exceptionally skilled and adept in drama and comedy she became a household name
when she appeared on Peg Bundy (Fox series Married... with Children 1987).
During the long run of the series, she was nominated twice for American Comedy
Award and three Golden Globes. Peg Bundy's persona was very popular and Katey
continued to make a name for herself as a performer, not just in sitcoms, but
playing roles that were quite different from the role that caught her to the
attention of. She was Gemma Teller Morrow in Sons of Anarchy (2008) as the
matriarch of the Hell's Angels-like California biker family. Her performance in
2011 earned her the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance of an actress in a
Television Series Drama. Catherine Louise Sagal was a child of Sara Zwilling, a
director and singer, as well as Boris Sagal - renowned television and film
directors. Los Angeles native, Catherine Louise Sagal began singing when she
was just five years old. She then studied acting and voice at the California
Institute of the Arts in Valencia. She was a singing waitress in her
"salad" years. After her time with "The Group With No
name," she got a break when she teamed up with Gene Simmons and KISS, a
1970s rock band. She also gained experience as a backup singer for Simmons as
well as other famous artists like Bob Dylan and Etta James. When Bette
performed her avant-garde stage productions in the late 1970s and into the
early 1980s she was a dynamic performer in live performances with Bette Midler.
