Pollyanna McIntosh

Pollyanna McIntosh grew up in Portugal and Colombia before returning to her birthplace of Scotland in Scotland, where she was born. It was here that she first began performing, on stage, at The Edinburgh Festival. She relocated to London at the age of 16, and swiftly began to get involved in independent filmmaking. Her first pay-per-view was as a stoner for Irvine Welsh's The Acid House (1998). She also performed as an actress and director in the theatre. The move to Los Angeles in 2004 brought new theatre opportunities such as a production called "The Woolgatherer", in which she was the director Anne Dudek (a regular on Mad Men (2007)/Big Love (2006)) and David Dayan Fisher (a regular on 24 (2001)/NCIS (2003)) to high praise. Her first US film role was "Stacy", the manipulative and reborn Christian, in Headspace (2005). Her first movie role was in Headspace (2005) as the manipulative, born-again Christian "Thumper Wint". This comedy was written by Heathers (1988). Working in both LA as well as London, Exam (2009) was the next film, which was nominated for BAFTA as Outstanding British Debut and winner of Best Independent at the Santa Barbara Film Fest, the film's critics praised Pollyanna's performance as was "smart and sassy equally ....the emotional heart of the film" and praised her ability find the "emotional vulnerability" of her supposedly powerful and tough character. GQ simply stated that Pollyanna McIntosh was an amazing actor and actress "extraordinarily talented actor". Como Quien No Quiere La Cosa (2013) (As if you Don't Like it! She plays the role of Trevor Lock, a disgruntled Brit comedian. Filmed in Peru She speaks Spanish throughout. In Burke and Hare (2010) directed by John Landis, she plays Isla Fisher's bestie , along with Simon Pegg, Andy Serkis, Jessica Hynes, Tom Wilkinson and Tim Curry. Lucky McKee's The Woman (2011), in which she played the lead part, received rave reviews at Sundance 2011. It also came in top of the New York Times' readers poll of the top films. For her performance, she received three Best Actress awards, including Total Film's Frightfest Award and Fright Meter's.
