Paula Faris
Paula Faris is an American journalist
who formerly worked as an anchor for television at ABC News. She is best known
for her role as co-host of Good Morning America Weekend, 2014-2018, as well as
host of The View, 2015-2018. Prior to this she was co-anchor of America This
Morning (World News Now) and America This Morning (America This Morning). After
graduating, she worked in several communications-related jobs including an
operations position at Mills/James Productions in Columbus, Ohio. She held a
job in sales for radio, due to the lack of television opportunities. Her next
job was one year as a producer assistant for WKEF/WRGT. Later, she would
occasionally anchor and report. She was one of the weekend and weekday sports
anchors at WCPO TV, Cincinnati, from 2002 to 2005. After her contract was up
and she became a anchor and sports reporter for the NBC affiliate WMAQ-TV in
Chicago from November 2005 until December 2011. In December 2011 she was hired
by ABC News the division for news of ABC. She first made an appearance on the
ABC News network on World News Now and America This Morning on January 2 2012.
In this period, she performed as a fill-in host on Good Morning America as well
as the correspondent. She was then elevated to become a New-York-based
correspondent for all ABC News programs. The last episode of World News Now and
America This Morning was January 22nd 13. On September 9, 2014, she debuted as
co-anchor for Good Morning America Weekend, following the departure of Bianna
Golodryga. She moved to Yahoo! News. News. On August 3 in 2016 it was announced
she was renewed on her contract until the end of its 20th season. She was also
renewed as co-host for Season 21. In the 22nd and 21st seasons, she was mostly
on the Friday episode of the program.
