Rashida Jones

Rashida Jones was the younger sister of media mogul, producer, musician Quincy Jones and actress Peggy Lipton. Kidada Jones is her older sister. She is also the half-sibling of five from the other relationships her father had with his family. Her father is African American and her mother is Ashkenazi Jewish (a descendant emigrants of Russia and Latvia). Rashida was raised in Reform Judaism. Her birthplace was Bel Air, Los Angeles. Jones claimed that Jones' mixed race parents were unacceptable to her in the 1970s. Jones made her acting debut professionally with The Last Don in 1997 the mini-series based on Mario Puzo. Rashida was also a graduate of Harvard University in 1997. The course was at the Buckley School, Sherman Oaks, California. She was awarded the Most Likely to Succeed Award. Rashida's father is African American, and also has smaller amounts of English, Scottish, and Welsh as well as Welsh ancestry (some of his African ancestors were from the Tikar people of Cameroon). Rashida is Ashkenazi Jewish, of Russian Jewish and Latvian Jewish descent. Her paternal grandparents hail from South Carolina and Mississippi, respectively.
