Rita Ora Bio

Rita Ora is a British musician and singer from the UK. She was born Rita Sahatciu Ora in 1990 in Pristina, Kosovo, to Vera (Bajraktari) and Besnik Sahatciu. Besim Sahatciu is her granddaughter. When she was just one, her family took the decision to relocate to England. She was born in West London. She attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School, Earls Court. After that she was able to graduate from Sylvia Young Theatre School followed by St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College. She began singing from a young age. In 2004, she appeared in the British film Spivs. After auditioning for Eurovision: Your Country is in need of You (BBC One) she was picked to represent the UK at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. She later pulled out of the competition after a few episodes, feeling that the stage was not ready. Ora released her first music in 2007, when she was featured in Craig David's track "Awkward" Then she made a second appearance on "Where’s Your Love" featuring TinchyStryder. Ora started singing in bars in London. A few days after, Ora flew to New York to meet Jay-Z An A&R representative inform Roc Nation about Ora. Ora was featured in Jay-Z's 2009 video for "Young Forever" and "Over" from Drake. Ora attracted the attention of Jay-Z and he quietly signed her up to Roc Nation, in which she was featured in commercials for Roc Nation + Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. She started singing in the same bar where her father, Besnik, was a pub owner. Gwen Stefani is a major influence on her personality. She also refers to her father, Besnik, who was a pub's owner. Kate Moss and Ed Sheeran have been friends for a while.
