ALEX MORGAN BIO

Morgan was born on July 2nd 1989 (Alex Morgan age: 30) to Pamela and Michael Morgan. Morgan was raised by her parents in Diamond Bar, Los Angeles. Morgan was a multi-sport athlete throughout her youth, but did not favor soccer until she turned 14. Morgan joined the Cypress Elite club team and came first in the Coast Soccer League under-16 championship. She also placed third in the under-19 bracket. Morgan continued her education at Diamond Bar High School, where she developed her soccer skills. National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has selected her as an All-American Athlete. She also participated in the Olympic Development Division's regional and state divisions. Morgan continued her soccer career at UC Berkeley where she was the California Golden Bears' leading scoring player from the start of her first season. She was instrumental in getting the team to the NCAA Tournament all four years and even made it to the second round twice. Morgan became one of four finalist candidates for the Honda Sports Award and the first Berkeley student to make the list of Hermann Trophy finalists. Morgan completed her studies in 2010 with the third-highest number of goals and points for Berkeley. Morgan was able to manage soccer careers at both the national and college levels throughout her studies. When she first joined the Berkeley team, Morgan experienced an ACL injury which barred her from training with the U.S. under-20 women's soccer team until April 2008. In Mexico, Morgan scored her debut international soccer goal at the CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship. Morgan was also part of the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. Her team took home a gold medal and she scored her first international goal at the CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship in Mexico. One of them was a victory goal against Italy which secured the U.S. team a final spot at the 2011 World Cup. Morgan was the youngest member of the team and played a key role in helping it win against France. Morgan was the youngest player on the team and was the one who led them to victory over Japan.
